  31.    Start speech with the quotes from the MOD re UFO not coming under the
  32.    Official Secrets Act. Then quote the American document. (Slide 1)
  33.    The fact that we are such close allies. Also if UFO don't come under
  34.    the Official Secrets Act why is it that so many are retained under the
  35.    30 year rule.

  37.    I am Tony Dodd and my friend is Dr. Henry Azadehdel. Both Dr. Henry
  38.    and myself were originally geared to speak about our own particular
  39.    experiences in the UFO field, but due to information which came to us
  40.    several weeks ago in relation to an alleged crashed  UFO  in  South
  41.    Africa, we have spent a considerable amount of time engaged in an in
  42.    depth investigation into the information received.

  44.    Due to the complex nature of the investigation both Dr. Henry and
  45.    myself will take turns to speak and will hopefully give you a picture
  46.    of the sequence of events as they occurred.

  48.    You will be shown slides of certain documents which were passed to us
  49.    and also of the person who passed the information. Unfortunately it
  50.    has been necessary to blank out certain names and places but this has
  51.    been done to protect the identity of our informant who is no longer in
  52.    this  country.  He stated that he is a South  African Air Force
  53.    Intelligence  Officer and would be charged with Treason in his own
  54.    country  should  his identity be revealed. I have been corresponding
  55.    with this man for a long time but was not aware of his Intelligence
  56.    Connections until the last few weeks.

  58.    At this stage I would point out as stated  previously, that certain
  59.    omissions have been made in the talk we are about to give. It is  of
  60.    the utmost importance that our sources of information are totally
  61.    protected for their own safety.

  63.    By protecting informants in this way we hope that other Intelligence
  64.    sources will come forward and eventually the full picture of what is
  65.    going on  will emerge.

  67.    If when we have finished giving details of this incident there is time
  68.    we will be happy to answer questions   but we reserve the right not to
  69.    answer if we feel that our continuing enquiries or source of
  70.    information would be compromised.

  78.    During  the  first  week  in  July  I  received  correspondence  from  Mr.
  79.    which stated  that  a UFO had crashed  in  the  Kalahari Desert  and ha
  80.    been  recovered by  a  team  of  South African  Military  personnel  to
  81.    secret  Air  Force  base.  He also informed  me  that  two  live  alien
  82.    entities had been found in the craft. The information also stated that
  83.    a group of American Military personnel had arrived and had taken over
  84.    the  investigation.  He  stated that  he  would  forward  a  copy  of  the
  85.    Official  South African Top Secret document  to  me  but  would  send  i
  86.    later in a letter which would not contain any details of the sender in
  87.    case the letter was intercepted. (Slide 2)

  89.    A week later I received the document which consisted of five pages and
  90.    was headed with the South African Air Force crest. Every page of the
  91.    document was marked Top Secret.  (Slide 3)

  93.    The story told by the document was as follows:

  96.    At 1.45 pm on the 7th. May 1989 a Naval Frigate of the South African
  97.    navy was at sea when it contacted Naval Headquarters to report an
  98.    unidentified flying object on their radar scope, heading towards the
  99.    South African continent in a North Westerly direction at a calculated
  100.    speed of 5746 nautical miles per hour. This message was acknowledged
  101.    and confirmed that the object was also being tracked by airborne radar
  102.    and military ground radar installations.

  104.    The object entered South African air space at 1.52 PM and at this time
  105.    radio contact was  attempted but to no avail.  As  a result  two Mirage
  106.    jet fighters were scrambled on an intercept course.
  107.    At  1.59pm.  Squadron  leader  -------  the pilot of one of the Mirage
  108.    fighters stated over the intercom that they had radar and visual
  109.    confirmation of the craft.  The order was given to arm and fire the
  110.    Thor 2 experimental laser canon. This was done.
  111.    (Thor 2 is a Top Secret experimental beam weapon)

  114.    The Squadron Leader reported several blinding flashes emanating from
  115.    the object which had started wavering and it started to decrease speed
  116.    and altitude at the rate of 3000 feet per minute. It eventually
  117.    crashed at a 25 degree  angle into the dessert in Botswana
  118.    A recovery  team was dispatched  to  the crash site where it was found
  119.    that the UFO was embedded in the side of a large crater in the sand.
  120.    The sand in the vicinity of the object was fused together due to the
  121.    intense heat.  One telescopic leg protruded from the side of the craft
  122.    as if caused by the impact.

  124.    Large recovery helicopters were flown to the site and the first one
  125.    reaching the scene overflew the object at a height of 500 feet and
  126.    immediately stalled and crashed. Five crew members were killed. It was
  127.    found that vehicles approaching the object also developed engine
  128.    trouble due to an intense electro magnetic field coming from the
  129.    object.

  138.    Eventually a paint like compound was received at the site and painted
  139.    on the object which appeared to neutralize the magnetic field.

  141.    The object was eventually conveyed to an Air Force Base and was taken
  142.    to the sixth level underground. At this time it was totally intact.
  143.    Whilst this was going on the American Team from Wright Patterson AFB
  144.    arrived.
  145.    Whilst the recovery team and scientists were mulling over the object
  146.    their attention was suddenly attracted to a noise from the side of the
  147.    craft. They noticed that an opening had appeared in the side. It was
  148.    doorway but had only opened to a small gap. Attempts were made to open
  149.    the door but without success so hydraulic pressure gear was used to
  150.    force the door open.
